With the warm weather it’s time for a fun summer fact.<\/p>\n

The Dutch seaside resorts have a strong seasonal pattern: many tourists in the summer and much fewer the rest of the year.<\/p>\n

Did you know that this fluctuation is even reflected in medication use?<\/p>\n

The large group of tourists in the high season causes a significant peak in a selection of medicines for acute use.<\/p>\n

Note:
\n– This concerns the medication: Emergency contraception (G03AD**), Nitrofurantoin (J01XE01 – bladder infections), Augmentin (J01CR02), Diclofenac (M01AB05)
\n– This concerns the following seaside resorts: the Dutch Waddeneilanden and the following places in Zeeland: Renesse, Domburg, Zoutelande, Scharendijke, Oostkapelle, Burgh-Haamstede, Vrouwenpolder.
