Building insight together: Molecular Diagnostics Practice Monitor
Together, IKNL, PALGA, and Farminform have taken an important step toward gaining more insight into the use of molecular diagnostics and targeted therapies in oncological practice.
By joining forces, they have followed up on the Roadmap Practice Monitor Molecular Diagnostics (MD) and further concretized and shaped it.

There is currently no national overview showing how molecular diagnostics and targeted therapies are used in practice. This is precisely why cooperation between different data parties is essential. By securely and carefully linking data from multiple sources, IKNL, PALGA, and Farminform have jointly investigated what insights are already possible.
This joint effort has yielded results! The project shows that initial basic insights at the population level can already be made available. These findings were shared on January 28 with a broad group of stakeholders from the participating organizations.
In the coming period, the partners will discuss how to further expand this collaboration. The joint goal is clear: to realize a Molecular Diagnostics Practice Monitor (PMD). This monitor should provide up-to-date, aggregated insights into:
· the use of molecular diagnostics,
· relevant tumor characteristics,
· and the application of targeted therapies.
By working together, we are striving to gain a better understanding of oncological care, with the ultimate goal of making care more effective, appropriate, and future-proof.
